May 2002 - The National Consumer league validates what the MLM WatchDog has been saying - MLM is Good! They did not even mention MLM in their annual release of Internet scams! MLM bashers eat mud! Some of the rabid idiots out there would have the public believe that MLM is full of scams! NOT SO! MLM is the last bastion of economic freedom for the little guy! The only reason the MLMWatchDog hammers MLM appearing scams is to make Network Marketing a Scam Free Zone!
HERE ARE 2002 MAIN SCAMS
1. Online auctions:
Either a lying description of products being sold on auction or the seller just flat took the money and ran with no products shipped.
2. General Merchandise
Products or services sold on Websites that was did not meet the description or were delivered (virtual theft).
3. Nigerian Money Offers
Sucker letters from "Officials" in Africa claiming to need help to transfer a fortune from Africa. I brings out the larceny in the suckers who want to be in on the scam.
4. Computer Equipment/Software
Equipment/software that people bought that never got delivered or did not work.
5. Internet Access Services
Charges from Internet Service Providers for services that weren't asked for.
6. Information/Adult Services
Hitting credit card/phone bills for services never received or asked for.
7. Work at Home Schemes
Books, Ebooks, kits all sold with false promises of profits (mail letters to get others to buy a book to learn how to sucker others in)
8. Advance-Fee Loans
Empty promises of loans requiring payment of application and other fees in advance
9. Credit Card Offers
Giving credit impaired people promises of credit cards that require payment of application and other fees. The the person flunks the test.
10. Business Opportunities/Franchises
Hyped claims of big profits through buying in prepackaged businesses or franchises.
